Quilting
Hi! I've been MIA for quite some time. I moved and never quite settled into a routine of getting any crafting done! Since then I have moved again, my daughter started transitional kindergarten and my son started pre-school.
While I no longer have a dedicated room for crafting I still have plenty of space to take over. I just have to clean up after myself now. Ha! This week I attended a quilting class. We worked for 12 hours! Yes! Insane I know! It's quite an experience once you complete the top of your quilt though! Now I just have to add border, back it and quilt it!
Here's a peak at what it looks like now.

Oversized Beach Bag and Blanket
Yesterday I made an OVERSIZED Beach bag. I was sorta dreading making it, I started full of enthusiasm but then it came down to the nitty gritty of actually making it and I was a bit lost. So I took directions for a simple book tote with a squared bottom and enlarged it... a thousand times! It was also the first time I had sewn a bag with a zipper in the interior. It wasn't too bad though.
It's ginormous!! The customer (my sister) loved it!
She sent me a picture of it full with all their pool stuff.
I absolutely love this bag and plan on making a million more!
Maybe a few that are a bit smaller! If you are interested in purchasing a beach bag message me.
Once I make a few I will put them up in my etsy shop.
I also made my nephew a Toy Story fleece blanket. A little too hot to use now but it will be great for winter. He LOVES Toy Story! While making his blanket I discovered that my son happens to LOVE Buzz Lightyear. Guess I will be heading back to the store to pick up some more Toy Story Fabric.
Til next time!

New Sponsor
Hi all! I have a new sponsor. Her name is Daria and she sells Scentsy. If you have never tried Scentsy you should! Scentsy is a safer alternative to candles. Scentsy is wax that is melted on decorative warmers with a low watt light bulb. No wick, fire, flame, soot, or lead. The wax is also a food grade wax, and doesnt get over body temperature when warmed.
Safe for homes with kids and pets.
Are you ready to try? Click on her button on the right side of your screen, you will be directed to her website. You can order online, its safe and secure or you can contact Daria and she will help you over the phone.
Here are a few of my favorite warmers....
OK I know the lamb isn't a warmer but it's so darn cute!! You put a scent pack in the lamb and it will help soothe your child. My daughter would flip for this one.... this is on my list of wants for her.... and the monkey for my son :)

Mama has herself a new baby!
and I don't mean a real baby! I mean a brand new sewing machine!! She is a beauty.
I haven't had much time to do much sewing since she came to live with us this last weekend.
I am sure I will have some things to show off real soon though!
Since my last post... many moons ago, we have moved to a new city so we could be closer to family. Family is really important to us and we really felt like we weren't able to spend as much time with them as we would like. So we looked, found, packed and moved. Oh and got rid of a ton of stuff because we moved into a smaller house, much smaller house!
Our new house is simply adorable though! We have rose bushes out in the front yard, a gardenia bush. The backyard has a little area that was perfect for our little jungle gym and playhouse for the kids. I still have a sewing room which was a huge plus! There isn't any overhead lighting though so I am using lamps which is not the best but it will do. Oh and its one story and the kids can go to their rooms and play or come out to the living area without me having to unlatch gates or go up with them. It's lovely! I am in love with this house.
I was invited to participate in a craft fair but I wasn't able to with the move and all. I am hoping to participate in another upcoming fair in Sept. I still have plenty of time to start making some items for that.
Hope you all have been great!

Busy Packing
There have been some requests on my blog for my excel sheets
from my Home Management Binder post.
I promise I am not ignoring you.... well not in the bad way anyway!
We've been caught up with packing our house for a move....
have I mentioned how much stress a move brings out in me? I can visualize all my furniture being scratched and all my favorite glass dishes being broken into tiny little bits of useless glass. But I digress....
once I am all settled in at the new place I will email all of your requests.
Thanks for being patient!

Losing my marbles....
I was blogsurfing last week and saw a post about a book with all things handmade and for charities.... the project in particular was kimono style jammies for newborns. She gathered a group together at her church and they all got to cutting and sewing and then donated to a local hospital. WHO WAS THIS??? I don't know. I could have sworn I started following her blog but I searched through all of my lists and cant find her! What I do know is that I saw a link from someone else's site which led me to her..... not much help huh? I feel the same way! Oy! What to do what to do? I'd really like to purchase that book. Maybe I will google kimono style jamjams. hmmmm......
Update*** I yahoo'd handmade for charities..... simple enough and viola...
I think this is it.... I would still like to know whose blog I saw though
Update***ok...I'm really losing my marbles!! I found her, Dana from MADE
I feel better now that I know where I found this.
Why am I posting this.... I would love to do a group project of some sort and donate.
This has been on my mind since I read this post and recently with the disaster in Japan I want to be able to help in some way. I am hoping there is something in this book that can be made that will be of use during this tragic time.
